Cookie Policy
Last Updated: October 14, 2026
The short version: ChosenPages uses the cookies and browser storage needed to sign you in, keep your account secure and remember your settings. On our public pages only (such as the homepage, pricing, help, guides and these legal pages) we also use Google Analytics cookies, which you can accept or decline. Pages inside your account, where you write, are never measured, and your writing is never sent to Google. We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. “Local storage” is a similar browser feature that saves settings on your device. This policy lists the ones ChosenPages (chosenpages.org) uses. For how we handle personal information generally, see our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
authjs.session-token (or __Secure-authjs.session-token) | Keeps you signed in and identifies your session securely | Strictly necessary | Up to 30 days, or until you sign out |
authjs.csrf-token (or __Host-authjs.csrf-token) | Protects sign-in forms against cross-site request forgery | Strictly necessary | Until you close your browser |
authjs.callback-url (or __Secure-authjs.callback-url) | Returns you to the right page after signing in | Strictly necessary | Until you close your browser |
sf_terms | Remembers that you accepted the Terms of Service, so you aren't asked on every visit | Strictly necessary | Up to 10 years |
_ga | Google Analytics: tells one visit from another on our public pages, using a random ID | Analytics (optional) | Up to 2 years |
_ga_<container ID> | Google Analytics: keeps track of the current visit on our public pages | Analytics (optional) | Up to 2 years |
3. Analytics on public pages
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find ChosenPages and which public pages are helpful. It runs only on public pages: the homepage, promotions, help, writing guides, ministry and gift pages, founding-member page, sign-in and sign-up pages, and these legal pages. It is switched off on every page inside your account and on any page reached through a private link (such as a shared-reading, invitation, beta or password-reset link).
When it runs, Google Analytics records things like the page you viewed, the website that referred you, your approximate location (city or country, worked out from your IP address, which Google does not store), and your device and browser type. Page addresses are sent without anything after the “?”, so codes in links aren’t sent. Google signals and advertising features are turned off.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics cookies are not set unless you choose Accept all or turn Analytics on under Customize; until you choose, Google may receive a basic page-view signal that carries no cookies or identifiers. Elsewhere analytics is on by default. If you choose Reject non-essential, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Google Analytics is switched off completely and nothing is sent to Google.
4. Settings saved in your browser
These stay on your device only, aren’t sent to us with each visit, and simply remember your preferences:
| Name | What it remembers |
|---|---|
cookie-consent | Whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies |
cp-color-mode | Light, dark or automatic appearance |
highContrast, bionicReading, customCursor | Accessibility preferences you turn on |
cp-editor-ruled-lines, cp-read-aloud-voice, cp-scripture-version | Editor, read-aloud and Scripture version settings |
cp-nav-write, cp-nav-create, cp-nav-publish, cp-nav-account | Which sidebar sections you've expanded |
cp-used-locations | Recently used location names, for suggestions |
cp_intro_seen, cp-whats-new-notebooks-v1, cp-data-safety-dismissed-until, sf-faith-dismissed | Whether you've already seen or dismissed a tip or notice |
cp-energy-checkin, cp-pre-writing-prayer | Your choices for the optional check-in and pre-writing prayer |
5. Other services
- Google Analytics sets the analytics cookies above on public pages only, if allowed (Google Privacy Policy; Google Analytics opt-out add-on).
- Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout and billing pages for payments and fraud prevention (Stripe cookie policy).
- Google sets its own cookies on its sign-in page if you choose “Sign in with Google”.
- Fonts are served by ChosenPages itself, so no font requests go to Google Fonts.
6. Your choices
Use (also at the bottom of the homepage and the top of these legal pages) to accept, reject or customize analytics cookies at any time; rejecting them also removes analytics cookies already set. You can also delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you won’t be able to sign in. Clearing local storage resets your display and accessibility preferences to their defaults.
7. Changes and contact
If we add or change cookies, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it. Questions? Email glorifygodministry@icloud.com.
